Advances in technology make building a Man Cave home theatre a thrilling experience every time! Building a custom home theatre is an exciting process, and with a qualified builder on your side, your dream home theatre is at your fingertips. For those who love a good movie, appreciate surround sound, and revel in a recliner, the decision to build your own home theatre system can mean a lot of decisions about things you may not know a lot about. In order to get the best set up for your needs, your home and your space, you need to have a team on your side to help you make the best decision for your household and your lifestyle. From the beginning , our Man Cave team will walk you through the building of your custom home theatre every step of the way.

From start to finish, there are several factors to consider when thinking of your dream home theatre:

1. Your Space. The first thing to consider when building your dream home theatre is the space which you will be remodeling. Man Cave has built stunning home theatres in the most traditional and the most challenging of spaces. Our team is dedicated in making sure you get the most amazing theatre given the space provided. Our expert staff provides creative and innovative solutions for any room in your home.

2. Your television. When setting up your home theatre, invest in a television that presents the best clarity of image, high resolution, strong sound and a BIG picture. While plasmas and LCD screens are a great start, newer LED flat screen televisions offer you a clear picture unlike any other screen. Another option for your custom home theatre is a high quality projector and screen. Rather than a television, combine a quality, large screen with a top-rate projector -- or just project onto your clean lounge room wall. Projectors are not only for the rich, with most electronics and home entertainment stores now stocking a range of options to suit your room size, requirements and budgets. Man Cave's outstanding partnerships with audio visual retailers all over the DFW area will give you access to the ideal television or projector for your home theatre project.

3. Your media player. A good quality DVD player is a great start, but these days you can do better. Blue ray players combined with a good television offer even better than cinema quality picture, and clarity of sound. Movies are increasingly being made available on Blue ray disc, so do it right the first time and get the best media player available.

4. Audio. Combine your fantastic picture with cinema-like sound by using a surround sound system. There are a variety of speaker and systems available and choosing the best system for your home theatre will be crucial to the overall experience in your home theatre.

5. The one and only piece of equipment your cinema is now missing is a suitable cinema recliner. Our team will introduce you to some of the most fantastic home theatre seating systems available. Whether you’re looking for something simple and comfy or completely custom chairs with stainless steels cup holders and personalized settings, we'll find the ideal seating for you.

Once you've chosen all of the above you will need to consider whether or not you want to use risers in your media room to enhance you theater experience. Leveled seating has many advantages and depending on your space. Your Man Cave designer will make sure you know all of your options when it comes to theater seating. Our ultimate goal is to make your dreams come true!

Man Cave has created this Swimming Pool Guide to aide you in your decision making process:

1. What is the size of your yard?
2. What design specifications and/or features does your ideal pool have? (Ex: Hot tub, walk in entrance, fountain, waterslide etc.)
3. Do you prefer freshwater or saltwater pools?
4. What is your budget?
5. Who will be using this pool? (adults, children, both)
6. How much time and/or resources are you willing to contribute to the maintenance of your pool?

Today We Remember....

On the 10th Anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11, the Man Cave team reflects on the victims and the heroes that were a part of this unforgettable tragedy. Servicing our honorable veterans has always been a passion for Mike McKellop, founder of Man Cave and Sierra Fine Custom Homes. On today, September 11, 2011, the Man Cave team wishes to shed light on the organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area working to give back to our veteran community. One foundation that is closest to Man Cave founder, Mike McKelllop, is the Texas Sentinels Foundation. Earlier this year, Mike worked in partnership with the Texas Sentinels Foundation to complete a stunning custom home for Retired Army Sergeant Johnny Wilson.

"Severely wounded United States Army Sergeant (retired) Johnny Wilson sustained severe injuries twice while serving in Iraq. Johnny was first injured in June 2004 when he was electrocuted by power lines while serving as squad leader on a Bradley fighting vehicle. He was sent home state-side to recover from his injuries. After his recovery Johnny requested to be re-deployed back to Iraq to serve once again with his unit. He arrived back in Iraq in December 2004.

In February of 2005 while on patrol Johnny and his platoon were attacked and hit with an IED in Taji, Iraq. Due to the attack, Johnny lost his left leg below the knee and also suffers from post traumatic stress disorder. Johnny was retired from the Army in April of 2006 and his family has lived in Mansfield, Texas, where he attends college full time and takes care of his three children and wife who suffered a severe brain stem stroke in May 2009

Mike was enthusiastic and eager to become a part of this fantastic project to provide a home for Sergeant Wilson and his family. Working together with Sentinels Team Leader, Kristina Hayes of Re/Max Masters, Bay Area Builders Association Support Our Troops, WBAP News/Talk 820, Mike McKellop and Sierra Fine Custom Homes and a group of highly dedicated volunteers, Johnny's team put together several fundraisers to make his dream a reality. With the funds raised from community events like golf tournaments and bowl-a-thons, combined with Mike's strong community partnerships, Johnny's team was able to secure the building materials needed to build the beautiful stone and brick home for Sergeant Wilson. The Wilson family was surprised by the announcement that they will be receiving a custom made mortgage free home and the Texas Sentinels Foundation life scholarship that was made live on WBAP News/Talk 820 on December 17th.

On February 2nd, 2011, Mike McKellop of Sierra Fine Custom Homes and founder of Man Cave, was able to participate in the presentation of the Wilson's home. Mike was honored by the Texas Sentinels Foundation and Senator Wendy Davis by receiving an American flag which was flown over the Texas State Capital in honor of his contributions to this project.
Sierra Fine Custom Homes and Man Cave would like to thank all of the brave individuals who have served, and are serving, our nation in the armed forces. We also wish to recognize those heroes who so bravely served our country ten years ago, on September 11th. We continue to keep those affected, by the events of 9/11, in our thoughts and prayers.
